WooCommerce Subscriptions

WooCommerce Subscriptions extends WooCommerce with subscription-based selling capabilities. It handles the full lifecycle of recurring revenue products — from initial signup through automatic renewals, payment retries, and subscription management — directly within the WooCommerce framework.

Subscription Product Types

The plugin supports simple subscriptions (fixed recurring price), variable subscriptions (multiple pricing tiers), and subscription bundles. Each type integrates with WooCommerce’s existing product management system, using familiar interfaces for configuration.

Billing & Payment Management

• Automatic renewals — charges customers on schedule using stored payment methods
• Failed payment handling — configurable retry schedules for declined payments before subscription suspension
• Proration — calculates prorated charges when customers upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle
• Free trials — offer trial periods before billing begins, with configurable trial durations

Subscriber Self-Service

Subscribers can manage their subscriptions from their WooCommerce account page — viewing upcoming payments, updating payment methods, upgrading or downgrading plans, pausing subscriptions, and cancelling when needed.

Store Owner Tools

The admin dashboard provides subscription analytics, renewal forecasts, churn tracking, and bulk management tools. Store owners can manually edit subscriptions, apply discounts, extend billing dates, and handle exceptions without requiring customer interaction.

Payment Gateway Support

WooCommerce Subscriptions integrates with payment gateways that support tokenized recurring billing, including Stripe, PayPal, and other WooCommerce-compatible gateways that store payment methods for automatic charges.
