Get started in 3 steps
Install
In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New, search for “Code Live Snow” and click Install.
Activate
Activate Code Live Snow on the Plugins screen.
Configure
Click Code Live Snow in the main admin menu, pick a preset or your own shapes and colours, and save.
Frequently asked questions
Can I show Christmas or Halloween shapes instead of snow?
Yes. Open Code Live Snow in the main admin menu and click a preset such as Christmas, Halloween, New Year or Valentine’s Day, or tick any shapes you like on the Shapes tab.
How does the automatic holiday calendar work?
Set the Mode to “Automatic holiday calendar”. Each event has a date range, and the matching effect switches on by itself every year. Ramadan, Eid and Easter move each year, so check their dates.
Can I change the colours?
Yes. Keep each shape’s original colours, choose one colour for everything, or build a multi-colour palette of up to 8 colours. Quick palettes are included.
Does it slow down my site?
No. The script only loads on pages where the effect is shown, it is tiny and deferred, and it starts after the page has finished loading.
Will I lose my settings when I update?
No. Updating never removes settings, and settings are also kept if you delete and reinstall the plugin. You can turn on deleting them on the Advanced tab.
How do I show the effect only on certain pages?
On the Advanced tab, enter page or post IDs in “Show only on these page/post IDs”, or use “Never show on these page/post IDs” to hide it on pages like checkout.
Will the effect block clicks on my site?
No. The effect layer lets every click pass straight through to your links, buttons and forms.
Is it really free?
Yes. Code Live Snow is free and open source under the GPLv2 license, with no locked features.
